In the seawater environment, impellers need choose the special corrosion resistance materials, like Titanium, Molybdenum and Nickel-Chromium alloy. Titanium alloy has high corrosion resistance which is far better than stainless steel, it can work in the humid atmosphere and seawater safely and resist to the pitting corrosion, acid corrosion of alkali, chlorine, chlorine organic, nitric acid, sulfuric condition excellently. Titanium alloy impeller is widely used in fans, turbo, engines, compressors and generators etc.
But it is always difficult that the machining of Titanium alloy impeller which has the characters of High specific strength, poor thermal conductivity, small elasticity modulus and high chemical activity. In addition, the impeller has very complex shape and structure which make the machining more difficult. The traditional machine tools cannot process at all. The five-axis high-speed machining center is an inevitable trend of the development of modern manufacturing industry.
Recently, AlloyO has received an impeller order that consists of Titanium alloy wheel and blade. The material is GR.5 (also known as TC4 or Ti-6Al-4V). The arc shape blades are evenly distributed around the axis of the wheel disc which are very suitable for five-axis high-speed machining center.
The five-axis high-speed machining centercan fully meet the needs of special environment for large torque and high rigidity, and provide reliable, efficient and high-precision guarantee of complex surface and shape.
