Solid solution treatment:
Solid solution treatment is a heat treatment method for improving intergranular corrosion resistance of austenitic stainless steel. The workpieces of austenitic stainless steel (especially after welding) are heated to 1050 to 1100℃, can make the carbides (Cr23C6, Fe23C6) which be deposited on the grain boundary to re-dissolve into the austenite grain, then quench (such as steel quenching) the workpiece to their temperature under the sensitive temperature to form Cr23C6 and Fe23C6 (350 ~ 450 C). It will not sink in the grain boundary precipitation of the carbide rotary. Austenitic stainless steel treated by solution treatment can prevent directional corrosion.
Full Anneal:
Full annealing is a metal heat treatment process, refers to the metal slowly heated to a certain temperature, keep enough time, then with appropriate cooling speed. The purpose is to reduce the hardness and improve the cutting process; to eliminate the residual stress, stable size, reduce the deformation and cracking tendency; grain refinement, organization adjustment, eliminate the defects to improve the mechanical properties of the workpiece. For example, the heat treatment of S31254 and N08926 after welded is the type.
